Branding by Juls is a Glasgow-based brand consultancy owned and run by Julie Christie-Clark.
what was the problem?
Juls got in touch at the end of 2019 when Branding by Juls was a few months old. It was started as a side hustle with the intention to build it into a fully-fledged brand consultancy. Juls realised she needed support in navigating that journey successfully.
She was spending all her time working on day-to-day business admin and client project delivery. She had very little time for the big picture work; mapping out her goals and strategy, so that she could shape the business and see a clear path for the growth of her business. She had identified some key challenges with her services, pricing and processes.
what WAS the solution?
After a detailed conversation, we decided that a full strategy was needed in order to create a clear vision of the business and to identify high impact changes.

Once we knew the vision for the business, we had to ensure it was structured to support the growth plan. We also mapped out an implementation plan.

Juls recognised that in order to stay on track, deliver the growth plan and deal with the challenges of running a business, she needed my ongoing support.

In December 2019 we worked through the business design. Crucially, we had to ensure that the business structure (operations) enabled the vision (strategy) to come to life. So we worked through the following areas;

- Ideal client profiles
- Financial forecasting
- Service planning
- Pricing
- Marketing channel strategy
- Client experience architecture
- Internal process mapping
- Systems selection
We identified opportunities, areas for improvement and introduced completely new things. I created an implementation plan to support the transformation.
Juls felt that she would benefit from ongoing support, so we continue to work together regularly. As 2020 proved to be a challenging year for many businesses, we frequently revisited the strategy and made adjustments as needed. Juls was new to business consulting, and has really embraced it.
